For its opening, Vestiaire resonates with Vieze Meisje’s Vieze Cirkel, a cult that guarantees exclusivity for everyone and creates arbitrary collectiveness in a world that revolves endlessly around itself.
From that intention, we imagine the dramaturgy of a night of centrifugal forces, where everything spirals concentrically. Vieze Meisje will surround the night, as MC and performer, and guide the audiences through the night alongside her acolyte Azertyklavierwerke and a group of artists amplifying these energies.
Vieze Meisje is joined in her spiral by four DJs, NMSS + ojoo + Femife + cratje, each representing key projects, scenes and cultures of the city through their (informal) collectives like Call of Dirty, psst, Femi & Friends and Montage. In the focal point of Vieze’s spiraling circle, they’ll share the decks for 4 hours in a chaise musicale format, embodying the spirit of Brussels’ nightlife scene: not just surviving, but expanding and inspiring.
The night begins with Haolin Huang’ performance “Overture”. Inspired by rituals, myths of rebirth, and cycles of becoming, “Overture” proposes a space in formation between loss and renewal, destruction and regeneration, disappearance and emergence. Right after, Phantom Wizard, composer and improviser based in Amsterdam, will dissolve boundaries and (re)imagine new traditions, interacting with water to generate sounds and textures.
Vestiaire is a prototype for a nocturnal cultural center by era and a synergy of supports. It unfolds across three distinct areas : the ground floor of Charleroi Danse, where Decoratelier/Jozef Wouters designed and built a scenography + the space of Alwakan + the courtyard that connects the two.

Voor de opening sluit Vestiaire aan bij Vieze Meisje’s ‘Vieze Cirkel’, een cultus die exclusiviteit voor iedereen garandeert en een willekeurig collectief creëert in een wereld die eindeloos om zichzelf draait.
Vanuit die intentie stellen we ons de dramaturgie voor van een avond vol centrifugale krachten, waar alles concentrisch in een spiraal draait. Vieze Meisje zal de avond omringen, als MC en performer, en het publiek door de avond leiden, samen met haar volgeling Azertyklavierwerke en een groep kunstenaars die deze energieën versterken.
Vieze Meisje wordt in haar spiraal vergezeld door vier dj’s, NMSS + ojoo + Femife + cratje, die elk belangrijke projecten, scènes en culturen van de stad vertegenwoordigen via hun (informele) collectieven zoals Call of Dirty, psst, Femi & Friends en Montage. In het middelpunt van Vieze’s spiraalvormige cirkel zullen zij vier uur lang de draaitafels delen in een ‘chaise musicale’-opzet, waarmee ze de geest van het Brusselse nachtleven belichamen: niet alleen overleven, maar ook groeien en inspireren.
De avond begint met Haolin Huangs performance ‘Overture’. Geïnspireerd door rituelen, mythen over wedergeboorte en cycli van wording, biedt ‘Overture’ een ruimte in wording tussen verlies en vernieuwing, vernietiging en regeneratie, verdwijning en opkomst. Het is een uitnodiging om een ‘thuis’ binnen te treden dat voortdurend wordt gevormd door de overdracht van collectief geheugen.
Vlak daarna zal Phantom Wizard, een in Amsterdam gevestigde componist en improvisator, tijdens zijn allereerste optreden in de ruimte van Alwakan – en zijn eerste optreden in de stad – grenzen doen vervagen en nieuwe tradities (her)uitvinden, waarbij hij in interactie met water geluiden en texturen creëert.
Vestiaire is een prototype voor een nachtelijk cultureel centrum dat zich ontwikkelt door de tijd heen en voortkomt uit een synergie van verschillende initiatieven. Het ontvouwt zich over drie verschillende ruimtes: de begane grond van Charleroi Danse, waar Decoratelier/Jozef Wouters een scenografie heeft ontworpen en gebouwd, de ruimte van Alwakan en de binnenplaats die beide met elkaar verbindt.
